Betty Scanland

Betty Scanland of Aberdeen died Monday, December, 23 at Harford Memorial Hospital. She was 90. Born in Aberdeen, MD she was the daughter of the late Thomas F. & Helen (Russell) Colleran and wife of the late Thomas S. Scanland who died in 2010. Mrs. Scanland was a housewife who volunteered for the Harford Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She is survived by her sons, Dr. John A. Scanland of Clarks Summit, PA and Thomas S. Scanland, Jr. of Bend, OR; daughters, Betsy Arbogast of Purcellville, VA and Susan Ruddick of Finksburg, MD; grandchildren, Craig Scanland, Brendan Scanland, Austin Ruddick, Jack Scanland and Taylor Scanland. In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by her daughter Laurie D. Scanland. A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 29 from 2-4 at the Tarring-Cargo Funeral Home where funeral services conducted by Dr. Robert Clipp will be held on Monday, December 30 at 10:00am.
