To the Elliott Family. May the comfort of God and good friends bring you peace in your time of loss. Whitey was my Sergeant when I started the P.D.in the early 70, I always liked him and he would help young Officers just starting out in Law enforcement. He was a very good Chief. He will be missed by all who knew him. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Family.

Dear Arlene, Patty, Buddy and families, I was sorry to hear about your dad. He was a great friend to my dad and was always a great "uncle" to us Travers kids. He will be missed.

I have many fond memories as a teen in the early 1960's growing up in Aberdeen. Among these memories are of police officer "Whitey" Elliott who did his best to keep all of us in line and out of trouble with total respect and kindness. Whitey made it a point to know every young person in town by their first names. Get too rowdy or cause a commotion you were going to get chastised like he was your father. If he saw you walking down the street he would stop and talk about pretty much anything under the sun. If a couple of us were in the Ideal Dinner in the evening, he would come over and sit with us like one of the boys. Whitey became our friend and our guardian in public. He was a great inspiration to many of the young people in town, which explains why Aberdeen was a very peaceful place back in those days. I am now 71 years old and I know that as I spread the word of his passing to my friends from those days they will still remember him well and have nothing but praise for him. My condolences to his family. Aberdeen has suffered a great lost with the passing of great a man who dedicated his life to his community.
