I’m so sorry to hear of John’s passing. I had the privilege of working with John at the Francis Scott Key Bridge in the early 1980s. He was a great guy that had a fantastic sense of humor. Please accept my condolences for your loss. Mark Tardif

I'm really going to miss him. He was one of my bosses/friends at FSK Bridge... Which makes this even more unbelievable. We use to work a lot of snow storms together over the years while I was in Maintenance. It was really fun, but yet very hectic at times. Gonna miss you buddy. Glad you're at peace now. Say hi to Mary Ann for me. 😇 😇

My name is Linda Teague. Daughter of William Bachtel and Joann Bachtel. Myself along with my brothers, Will Bachtel and John Bachtel, and sister , Mhargo Bachtel, are also the grandchildren of John Bachtel. For reasons I will not speak of, we were unable to stay in contact with him. I would of loved for him to meet my husband and 5 intelligent beautiful daughters. Along with my oldest daughters husband and son. I have very fond memories of us visiting him when we were younger. My favorite memories are when he use to walk us to the 711 and buy us comic books and slurpees and when we would catch fireflies at night by the tree they planted when I was born. We loved going out on his boat and playing tennis at the park. There hasn't been a day that goes by that I haven't thought about him. He will be greatly missed. I love you pop pop.
