Obituary
Cecelia was born on December 6, 1928 in Abingdon, MD to the union of the late Charles R. Anderson and
the late Harriet E. Anderson. She departed this life on November 5, 2014.
Cecelia accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and was baptized at Union United Methodist Church in Aberdeen, Maryland. Cecelia's early Christian training lasted throughout her life and was a reflection of her life and faith. She completed her elementary education in Perryman, Maryland.
After completing her secondary education in New York, Cecelia met and married William E. Bunn of Brooklyn, New York. To their union were born ten children. While living in Brooklyn, Cecelia joined South Congregational Church where she was an active member and volunteer.
After relocating back to Maryland to care for her parents, Cecelia moved her membership to John Wesley United Methodist Church where she was an active member as an Usher. She looked forward to volunteering for fundraising activities such as Women's Day.
Many people say there is nothing like a mother's love, and they are right. Cecelia was a mother who showed love to everyone she came in contact with. She was caring and beautiful inside and out. She loved life, her family, and her friends. Family was Cecelia's greatest love and joy. Her greatest moments was spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and attending church.
Cecelia worked in her community as a Nursing Assistant/Caregiver for more than 30 years. For many years, she assisted with the Harford County local NAACP chapter encouraging voter registration. Besides raising ten children, Cecelia had many hobbies, she loved to crochet beautiful baby blankets and scarfs. She also loved crossword and word search puzzles. Canning and preserving fruits and vegetables was second nature to her and a benefit to her gardening skills. Her specialty was her fried chicken and homemade yeast rolls. She enjoyed caring for the family pets whether it was her goat, goose or dogs.
Cecelia loved to travel was able to experience places like the Bahamas, Washington, California, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Nashville, New Mexico and Canada.
Cecelia leaves to cherish her memory: four sons, Thomas A. Bunn, Joppatowne, MD, Clarence E. Bunn, Aberdeen, MD, Richard Bunn (Diane), Baltimore, MD and Mark S.
