Carrie Walker Royal

Carrie Walker Royal of Aberdeen went to be with her Heavenly Father on December 6, 2014. Born in Whitetop, Virginia, on February 23, 1919, to John and Laura Walker and was one of nine children. She leaves behind her loving family and many, many friends. She and Freeman Royal were married on June 4, 1935. She was predeceased by her husband Freeman; her daughter, Evelyn Day; and her son Leroy Royal. She is survived by her devoted children, Jesse Royal of Aberdeen; Retha Dolinger of Miller's Creek, NC; Dorotha Coffin and Nancy Royal both of Aberdeen and Judy Lassiter of Rising Sun. Her remaining sister, Juanita Huffman, resides in Elverson, PA. Also morning her passing is her extended family of 11 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren; a multitude of adoring nieces and nephews; one daughter-in-law, Beverly Royal of Rising Sun one son-in-law, David Lassiter of Rising Sun, and all those that considered her as family. They will forever remember her kindness, her generous nature and her never ending love for her Lord the Saviour, Jesus Christ. When physically able, Carrie regularly attended Carsins Run Baptist Church. When unable to attend church, she worshiped on Sunday afternoons by singing gospel music with her son-in-law, David. A long time Harford County resident, she was employed by the Harford County Board of Education. Services will be held at the Tarring-Cargo Funeral Home, 333 S. Parke St., Aberdeen, on December 11, 2014. A visitation for family and friends will be from 10:00am to 11:00am with funeral services immediately following. Officiating the Reverend James Wright and interment will be at Harford Memorial Gardens.
