Obituary

James W. Triplett, age 97 of Churchville, MD passed away on December 14, 2014 at home after a short illness. Born on October 23, 1917 in Street, MD, he was the son of the late John W. and Etta Marie (Burkins) Triplett. His Military service was in World War II and he traveled extensively while serving his country. He had many extremely interesting stories about these different locations and remembered every detail. During this time, he earned numerous commendations and awards and was very proud of his accomplishments. As a civilian, he worked many years at the military installation, Edgewood Arsenal. After retirement, he was an avid fisherman and spent countless hours at his beloved Conowingo Dam. When unable to fish anymore, he still greatly enjoyed trips to the Dam to perhaps talk to other fisherman or just relive memories. He is survived by his wife, Carol. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, great children, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Clarice, as well as their son, Donald. Also preceded in death were a brother, Walter Triplett and 2 sisters, Helen Sumner and Eulalee Cox. In the latter time of James' life he cherished his time with his wife Carol, especially the times they shared going to Spready Oaks and taking long drives. He spoke often of the joy he got with his regular calls with his niece Sandy. Even when he was not able to talk he would smile as he heard her voice on the phone. A visitation will be held at the Tarring-Cargo Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 17 from 10am-12pm where a funeral service conducted by Rev. Harold Hubble will begin at 12:00pm. Interment will be at Harford Memorial Gardens. Funeral Home: Tarring-Cargo Funeral Home 333 South Parke Street Aberdeen, MD US 21001

It is hard to explain how much we miss Uncle James already. It does not seem possible that he is no longer here; however, we are relieved that he is now at peace and with his loved ones that have gone before. I will sorely miss our talks. He was an amazing man with many valuable insights into life that I will always remember. He looked at things differently sometimes than I did but that was his experiences speaking. I am happy to say we agreed on many more things and had wonderful conversations. Memories of him will remain with us forever. We love you and are very lucky that you were our Uncle James.
