My most sincere condolences are with you Trish. You and Katie (and yes, Steve, too) were so brave throughout this ordeal and I have such admiration of the grace that you and your family have shown. I'm so very proud to be your friend. I just wish I could be there with you. All my love, Les

Although I never met Steve in person, I know what legacy he leaves behind. In his loving and ever enduring wife, Trish, and his incredible daughter, Katie, it is abundantly evident what kind of man, husband, and father Steve was. He courageously battled his disease while maintaining a sense of humor and dignity that I've never seen before. While my heart goes out to those who survive him, I'm sure we can all take solace in knowing how well he was loved, and by the support he had near and far, from close friends as well as an entire community brought together by his family's efforts to give him the best quality of life possible. The story of Steve's life is one of great love, strength, honor, courage, and selflessness. And there is much to be learned, loved, and celebrated from his family's journey.

I was so shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of Steve. As an infrequent Facebook user I unfortunately missed the post regarding his situation so I was completely shocked when I saw that Steve was no longer with us. Steve was honestly one of the most warm caring people I have ever met in my life. I could always count on him as a friend and a coworker. He loved his wife and his daughter so much. I know this journey must have been extremely difficult for him. He was the one that was always taking care of everyone else so to be in that situation must've been extremely difficult for him. I heard about Steve's passing this weekend and thought about him every day since. Although I haven't seen him in person for many years, I always considered him someone I can count on that would always be there if I needed him. I will miss Steve terribly and I'm so sad for his family.
