Obituary for Robert Allen Phillabaum

LTC (Ret.) Robert Allen Phillabaum of Aberdeen died Friday, October 19 at Harford Memorial Hospital. He was 82.

Born in Marion, IN he was the son of the late Oscar & Orpha (Pulley) Phillabaum.

After retiring from the US Army as a Lieutenant Colonel, Mr. Phillabaum was a Management Analyst at Aberdeen Proving Ground. He also worked as a barber in high school and college and again, after retiring from the Civil Service. In his spare time he enjoyed racquetball, billiards, playing cards and croquet. He was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Nanette J. Phillabaum (nee Reinnoldt); children, Robert A. Phillabaum, II (and wife Carol) of Aberdeen, Carisa “Cari” Phillabaum of Aberdeen, and Leeann Domanico (and husband Joseph) of Bel Air; grandchildren, Jason, Megan, Joshua, Morgan and Logan; great grandchild, Zane, his brother, Dean Phillabaum and 18 nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his grandson, Gregory, two sisters and one brother.

A visitation will be held at the Tarring-Cargo Funeral Home on Sunday, October 28 from 12:00pm-2:00pm. Interment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The Humane Society of Harford County or the Wounded Warriors Project.
