Obituary for John "Jack" Joseph Pfarr, III

John “Jack” Joseph Pfarr, III died at his home in Aberdeen on Friday, April 19. He was 52.
Born in Baltimore, MD he was the son of the late John and Ruby (Joka) Pfarr, II.
A practical joker that seem to know every one, John “Jack” (as he liked to be called) Pfarr worked for Maryland Portable Concrete, Inc. for a total of 16 years as a Concrete Mixer Driver. Jack was often thought of as our most resourceful driver as he would find a way to somehow “MacGyver” a fix, for whatever might breakdown on his truck, so that dispatch would not have to send a repair truck out to fix him. He was also Maryland Portable’s most famous “hold truck”, for that last load of concrete late in the evening, when the dispatchers needed a man that would not waste any time. He was always the best man for that job because the dispatchers knew they could go home earlier if they sent Jack! Time and time again he would defy the odds, of rush hour and scheduling, and be back much faster than anybody expected. I know that Jack will be remembered fondly in those regards for a long time to come at Maryland Portable.
In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, camping and working on vehicles.
He is survived by his son, John Pfarr, IV of Montana; brother, William Pfarr of Baltimore and his niece, Whitney Frazier of Aberdeen.
