Obituary for Sarah Ann McNutt Brown

Sarah Ann McNutt Brown, a Faithful Servant to God, of Darlington went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, May 14 at the home of her daughter. She was 101.
Born in Wilmington, DE she was the daughter of the late Edwin T. and Sarah (Twaddle) McNutt, Sr. and wife of the late Charles S. Brown who died in 2011.
Over the years, Mrs. Brown had worked for C & P Telephone, Black & Decker, Glenn L. Martin, Social Security Administration and APG. Once her daughters, were born, she decided to be a stay at home mom. After her youngest daughter was ready for school she took a job as a teacher’s aide and then retired in 1981 from the Darlington Post Office.
A long-time member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, she was active in The Aberdeen Golden Age Club and the Eastern Star Victory Chapter 40 which she joined in 1948 and worked her way to Worthy Matron 1956. She enjoyed traveling both in the U.S. and abroad, baking and crocheting. Sarah was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed her time with family, playing games and lived a life full of selfless love, and grace. She was grateful for life and lived it to the fullest.
She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Kelly of Bel Air; grandchildren, Kristina Kennedy and husband David, Scott Kelly and wife Amanda, Justin Wesolowski, Angela Workman and Jacob Coldiron and wife Erin; 11 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by her daughter Sandra Jean Coldiron in 2015 and her siblings, Wesley Edwin, Jr., Willis and Alfred McNutt and Emalyn Kirkwood.
A visitation will be held at the Tarring-Cargo Funeral Home on Monday, May 21 from 5-8pm. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am at Oak Grove Baptist Church on Tuesday, May 22. Interment will be in Darlington Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
