Obituary for Robert Earl Cherry

Robert Earl Cherry of Aberdeen died Thursday, April 12 at Hart Heritage Estate. He was 84.
Born in El Paso, TX he was the son of the late Elton K. and Harriet D. (Johnson) Cherry and husband of the late Patricia Ann Cherry, who died in 2010.
A member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Mr. Cherry retired 1989 as an equipment specialist, having worked at Edgewood Arsenal.
He is survived by his daughters, Laura Jones and husband Steve of Abingdon, Sharon Leydecker and husband Chuck of Havre de Grace, Patricia Hale and husband Pete of Perryville and Bridget O’Neill and husband Sean of Bel Air; sons, Robert Cherry and wife Darla of Tucson, AZ and Thomas Cherry and wife Mary of Bristol, VA; daughter-in-law, Linda Cherry of Newark, DE; sister, Patricia Johnson and many grand and great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife he was predeceased by his son Stephen Cherry in 2017.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 17 from 9:30-10:30am at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church where a Memorial Mass will begin at 10:30am. Interment will be at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery. Contributions in his memory may be made to St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 257 S. Law St., Aberdeen, MD 21001.
