He continued his career with the Army at Aberdeen Proving Ground as a Civilian Gunner Foreman for 41 years, retiring in 1982. He was a proud member of the Masonic Lodge 187, Odd Fellows Lodge 102, and American Legion Post 39. He loved listening to baseball on the radio while watching the television with no sound, rabbit and fox hunting, and growing a huge garden for his family.
Mr. Markline lost his beloved wife of 67 years, Marvel “Lydie” Markline, in 2016. He is survived by his sons, Joseph and his companion, Susan Cooley, of Darlington; and Jeffrey and his wife Deborah, of Havre de Grace; his only granddaughter, Amy Crowl and her husband, Parker and his great grandson, P.D. Forrest Crowl, who he adored, all of Street. He was preceded in death by two sons, James and John; his parents; and brother, Lewis R. Markline. A viewing will be held Monday, January 29th from 6 – 8 pm, as well as Tuesday, January 30th from 9 – 10 am at Tarring-Cargo Funeral Home in Aberdeen.
